Using the ADDIE model to guide us, we will use AI to help you develop a real project.

  1. Analyse: Create and conduct a training needs analysis

  2. Design: Build learning outcomes and a session plan

  3. Develop: Create learning activities, slide decks and facilitation guides

  4. Implement: Translate materials into different languages and create customised learner pathways

  5. Evaluate: Measure programme impact and build assessment tools

Learning outcomes and course map

  • Analyse

    • Discuss the basics of prompt engineering and how to use the CREATE framework

    • Practice using ChatGPT to create a TNA, and automate this into Microsoft Forms

    • Demonstrate how to use AI to analyse the TNA, and generate insights that can inform learning needs

    • Project: Create a TNA survey, collect data, analyse it and create session outcomes

    Design

    • Explore how tools like Claude and Scholarcy can be used to conduct subject matter research

    • Create session outcomes based on that research

    • Briefly discuss key concerns when it comes to using confidential or proprietary data in openly available LLM's

    • Project: Research your chosen subject and use AI to draft your session learning outcomes

    • Create a lesson plan based on the session outcomes from Sprint 1

    • Use AI to assist in the learning design process

    • Leverage the power of AI to build content, including PPT decks, facilitation guides and learning activities

    • Explore other AI tools that can generate videos, avatars, music and translate materials into different languages

    • Briefly discuss issues when it comes to bias and discrimination with AI

    • Project: Build at least 5x slides of training content, along with a facilitation guide

  • Implement

    • Use AI to review course materials and assess them for improvements against learner needs

    • Learn best practices for ensuring data that is collected is clean and optimised for use with AI tools

    • Build learner satisfaction, engagement, and competence assessment

    • Project: Use AI to create 3 FAQs matched to your training materials

    Evaluate

    • Use AI to synthesise qualitative data into meaningful insights

    • Discuss how AI can help create automated learner pathways

    • Briefly discuss how AI can sometimes "hallucinate" and precautions to take

    • Project: Practice using AI to generate insights from an existing data set, and build a learning engagement survey
