World Bank Group, a major institution offering financial and technical assistance to developing nations, needed to rapidly upskill L&D leaders to:

As a large international organization, World Bank Group faced a significant challenge in standardizing AI tools and employee confidence within its learning processes. They needed to:

What This Course Includes

Over six weeks, your L&D team will get hands-on with AI tools to create and deliver a real world training initiative.

Module 1: Mind the gap

This module provides an introduction to the fundamentals of generative AI, examining the organisation's current use of AI and identifying future goals. Participants will explore AI’s capabilities, opportunities, limitations, and where it can automate or augment tasks.

Learning Outcomes:

Understand the key capabilities and limitations of AI.
• Identify opportunities for AI integration within their role.
• Gain clarity on the organisation’s internal AI policies.

Module 2: Prompt Engineering 101

This module introduces participants to prompt engineering, teaching them how to craft effective prompts to interact with AI tools. Participants will develop their own prompts relevant to their roles, and explore a structured framework for advanced prompting techniques.

Learning Outcomes:
Develop a more sophisticated approach to crafting AI prompts.
Learn how to use a structured framework for prompt engineering.
Gain practical experience creating prompts for immediate application.

Module 3: Data Analysis

In this module, participants will learn how to use AI for data analysis, reducing the time spent on data processing and reporting. They will work with AI tools to visualise data and generate insights, including exporting findings into presentations.

Analyse and visualise data using AI tools.
Learn how to use AI to automate data reporting processes.
Gain the ability to export AI-driven insights into professional visualisations.

Module 4: Planning Automations and AI Agents

This module focuses on identifying opportunities for automation within workflows. Participants will prototype automation flows and AI agents without the need for coding, exploring how AI can streamline processes within their teams.

Identify automation opportunities in individual and team workflows.
Design and prototype an AI automation flow.
Understand how to deploy automation solutions with technical support.

Module 5: Emerging AI Tools

Participants will explore the latest AI tools and assess their potential impact on business operations. They will be encouraged to identify relevant tools and pitch innovative ideas for their application within their organisation.

Learning Outcomes:
Stay up-to-date with emerging AI tools and trends.
Assess the relevance and business impact of new AI tools.
Develop and pitch a business case for adopting an AI tool.

Module 6: Entrepreneurial Thinkin

Participants will explore the latest AI tools and assess their potential impact on business operations. They will be encouraged to identify relevant tools and pitch innovative ideas for their application within their organisation.

Learning Outcomes:
Develop a change-management mindset towards AI adoption.
Create actionable plans to implement AI strategies within their teams.
Foster an entrepreneurial approach to driving AI innovation.

Module 1: Analyze
2.5 hours

What’s included:

In our first week, participants will familiarise themselves with the ADDIE model, then jump straight into the Analyze phase, using a LLM (Large Language Model) to create and deploy a Training Needs Analysis (TNA). 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Discuss the basics of prompt engineering and how to use the CREATE framework for structured prompting. 
  • Practice using ChatGPT to produce a TNA and automating it into a survey tool.
  • Demonstrate how to use AI to analyze the TNA and generate insights to inform learning needs.
  • Application task: Create a TNA survey, collect data, analyse it and create session outcomes.
Module 2: Design
2.5 hours

What’s included:

Participants will use AI tools like Perplexity.ai to conduct subject matter research and build lesson plans, based on robust learning frameworks like Blooms Taxonomy. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore how tools like Claude and Perplexity help conduct subject matter research.
  • Create session outcomes based on that research.
  • Discuss key concerns about using confidential or proprietary data in openly available LLM's.
  • Application task: Research your chosen subject and use AI to draft your session learning outcomes.
Module 3: Develop
2.5 hours

What’s included:

Enhance your design process by building different types of learning content with AI tools. From PowerPoint decks to facilitation guides, interactive avatars and other types of rich media, you’ll be amazed at the capabilities of generative AI. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Leverage AI to build content including PPT decks, facilitation guides and learning activities.
  • Explore AI tools to generate videos, avatars and music, as well as translate materials into different languages.
  • Discuss issues around bias and copyright with AI.
  • Application task: Use AI to build 5 slides of training content and a facilitation guide.
Module 4: Implement
2.5 hours

What’s included:

When it comes to implementation and deployment, AI can be a trusty sidekick, from translating materials to AI-powered coaches. This week is all about building your own GPT to automate manual tasks, freeing up time for your L&D team to focus on more strategic thinking. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Translate training materials into different languages using HeyGen and DeepL.
  • Use AI to review course materials and assess them against learner needs.
  • Create your own GPT trained on your internal training resources. 
  • Explore some of the risks of AI including hallucinations and data bias. 
  • Application Task: Build and train your own chatbot based on the learning materials you’ve created.
Module 5: Evaluate
2.5 hours

What’s included:

Our final week of content brings everything together to apply a critical mindset. Participants try their hand at data science using Generative AI to determine the impact of training materials. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Use AI to synthesise qualitative and quantitative data into meaningful insights.
  • Build learner satisfaction, engagement and formative assessments.
  • Discuss how AI can help create automated learner pathways.
  • Discuss AI “hallucinations" and the precautions to take.
  • Application Task: Practice using AI to generate insights from an existing data set and build a learning engagement survey.
Module 6: Graduate
1.5 hours

What’s included:

To celebrate what we’ve achieved and give the cohort an opportunity to present key learnings, we’ll recap the learning journey, showcase learning materials and collaborate on a final action plan to take back to the business. 

Learning outcomes:

  • Share learnings and achievements with peers.
  • Discuss future opportunities to continue ongoing learning.
  • Collaborate on an action plan to take back to their teams.
  • Celebrate successes
